the little tornado came in and rearranged some things, but you can see along the wall that the rubbermaid boxes are gone, they are under the bed.

Been a while

Well it has been a while, I haven't forgotten about posting, just haven't gotten around to it. I do have some pictures to post. I have not worked on the craft room in a week, but have been working on the rest of my house. When I was sick it kind of got out of hand, so had to take care of the rest of it first. Would like to have it all done by next Friday. I did take the trundle out from under the day bed so I could store boxes under there and not have them stacked up. The cats seem to like have a bed in the garage :) Not that it will stay there.

I did receive and email today from someone who thought I sold scrapbook supplies (I like them all, would not be able to choose). She is wanted to make an album for her husband's retirement, so I offered to help her out :) maybe it is a calling, who knows, we shall see. I am also hoping to start having friends come over to scrap once or twice a month. I seem to be inspiring people, that was not my itent. I just want to get caught up, but hey I don't mind all the same.

Ok, will upload the photos next and hope to soon have scrap pages to show off on here :)

Some progress

I got two rotations done in the craft room, ended up doing more in the game closet and craft closet than what was in the family room, but a big chunk was still taken out. I had wanted to do a third rotation, but have been busy getting math stuff together for my oldest son. I am not sure how much i will get done tomorrow. I have a very sore throat and am going to the doctore in the morning, so we shall see.

Will try and post pictures tomorrow.

Done for the day

Look at how far I have gotten!!

Some stuff is still on the bed needing to be put away, and yes I do have to stack some boxes on the floor, no room other wise, but as I use things up those will go down too :)

another angle, not entirely dif, though I did rearrange the book shelf a little

the closet I have talked about but haven't shown.

Man, I am done for today, I am just hitting burn out on it for the day and don't want all together or I may just move the stuff back in there as is. I wanted to show pics of the room to show that I wasn't just throwing the stuff back in there, but was organizing it with what I have :)
I am hoping to get to scrap some tonight since I have everything I need to get to :)
Will be back at it tomorrow.
22 month old is trying to empty the dishwasher, better get to it.

Making Progress

Well I just did my second rotation in the craft room and it had fewer interuptions than the first, and I made a big chunk in the family room dissappear :) Son knocked a container in the top of the closet down while running around, but it was one that I needed to go through anyway :) Will definately take pictures. I do have a big stuffed lizard on the floor, it is son's and I need to stitch it up, will prob try and do that this week so I can get it out of there. Also would really like to fix his boppy pillow for the same reason, can't put them away to be fixed, so better get them fixed so they aren't in there :)

Cut Short

Well, I didn't do much yesterday and when I was in there late last night we realized Patrick had gotten sick in his bed, so that stopped me :( I have worked a little today, but my kitty wanted lovings and Jacob needed help with a game on the computer. Hopefully I can be more productive later today :) I think I am going to hold off on pics, unless it is something big, like the pile in the family room going down :) And then a final results photo :)

Can you see the clean section behing the couch, woo hoo, may be done sooner than three weeks, we shall see :) There are a lot of boxes to go through.

final shots of the room, see the kitty comfy on the bed.

And the other angle

Ok, so I already know what 2011 will be, year of the sewing machine :) Maybe hubby can get me a nice work horse one next year for Christmas, with a button hole, that is a must have for me!!
Well, I didn't time my work this time, just did it. Got a hole row cleared in the family room. I do have a stack of rubbermaids in the room now, which aestetically (sp) I do not like, but they are my scrap things, so rather than go out and buy a better way to store them, I plan to use them!! Oh and my son's kitty loves the clean bed to lay on :)

Must stay the course

Well, I wanted to scrap a page, prob is half my stuff is in the pile in the family room, so I did print the January 2005 sketches (www.pagemaps.com) and picked out the photos and ribbon for the first layout, but that is as far as I got. I also brought in a large rubbermaid like box and it is full of sewing things I have begun. One is a "yellow brick road" quilt that I just need to bind and top stitch to be done, made with the scraps from my oldests nursery. You don't know how bad I want to do that right now. Must stay the course. I will be sewing here and there so will prob include that one in my get done projects. Figured it would be a nice 8th b-day gift for him. I started working on it when he was 9 months and had wondered where I stuffed it. Again though I need to get that stuff organized and in that room, so once again, must stay the course :) am still hoping to post pictures, but am going to go through that box first and see what else is in there.

Going Slow

It takes me about 45 minutes to go through, sort and put away one small (shoe box) box of stuff. So I have already reevaluated and changed my deadline to 8 Feb, so three weeks from Monday, there is no way I can get it all done in 2 days, unless I lock myself in there and ignore my family and the rest of the house. Not gonna happen. I will scrap in the process though for little rewards, so as to not get behind in that area :) I have been taking pictures today also, but you really can't see too much progress, maybe a box gone here, something changed on the book shelf there. But will continue to plug away and track my progress. Will post pictures later tonight.

Progress for Day 1

The mess I had to start with, it was SCAREY!!

At the end of the first 45 minutes I managed to the floor cleaned off. My son did help some.

This is where it all went :)

This is the end of my second rotation, the bed is cleared as is the desk. I began making the bed, but needed my son's help in getting the mattress back on with the bed skirt.

Bed is made, chair back in and drawers back in, the items on the bed are what I was last going through when my break time came.

Another angle, the items on the floor and desk are also more items that I was going through when my time was up.

And the stack in the family room, it has shrunk slightly due to the two pieces of furniture moving back into the room.
I wanted to share with you the digital layouts that I have already begun. I tried to upload them into this blog, but that was just not going to happen with the file size and my computer, so I am including the link. Facebook Your Photos - Creative Memories Story Book Creator: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2047928&id=1161430373&l=f5cbc4aa04 So far I only have the Creative Memories Story Book Creator (www.cmsite.com/sites/memoriesiwthshari). Once my son's comepetitve gymnastics season is over I will be ordering the Stampin Up Digital Scrapbooking program too (tamiimplay.stampinup.net).

I have also begun work in the craft room, in three 45 minute rotations, I have moved everything to the living room, minus what was in the desk, on the book shelf or in the closet. I also moved the bed and brought the chair and rubbermaid drawer thing back in. There were boxes on the chair and have begun going through them and organizing them better. I need to get some items to make this a little easier, but I am using what I have now. Though I did not empty the book shelf and closet I have already removed some things to go through and rearrange in those locations also. Here are pictures of my progress so far.

I hope to get more work done tomorrow, in reality I would like to be done by Monday, but we shall see with a busy long weekend for hubby.
Thanks for the support, I believe you can sign up to get notifications of when I post if you would like.

My goals for the year

So, as the New Year was approaching I decided that I want to focus on my scrapbooks. I am years behing and have 3 boys that I want to preserve not just their memories, but mine. I feel my calling in life is to lead my family to God, make memories with them, and preserve those memories. So, I want to get caught up on those albums that I am way behind on.

At first I just made the big goal to scrap traditionally with all the pictures that I already have brint and digitaly with those that I have not. For my digital I am using the Creative Memories (www.mycmsite.com/sites/memorieswithshari) and Stampin Up (tamiimlay.stampinup.net)digital programs. I also made the goal to scan all my current pages I have done and get them on disks, so that if for some reason they need to be replaced or duplicated I have them.

Yesterday (since it is the middle of the night as I type this) I decided to put more detail into my goals. On the digital front I would like to do a month a week to get caught up (beginning Jan 09). On the traditional front, I used to get kits from Apron Strings Designs (http://www.apronstringsdesigns.com/) and would like to get them again. My husband promotes on 1 Mar, so I figure if I can use up the bulk of my supplies I have now (which is a LOT), then I can start ordering the Bigger than a Breadbox kit monthly. Then if I achieve my goal by the end of the year I will add the smaller than a breadbox kit.

My secret to quick scrapbooking when I get on a roll is kits and sketches. I am going to use http://www.pagemaps.com/ as my inspiration. I do not like to repeat and have not used her sketches in the past. So I will begin with her earliest sketches (Jan 2005) and do a month of sketches a week (roughly 10 a month).

I have started this blog so that hopefully I can get some followers who will help cheer me on through the process. My first step is to totally clean and organize my craft room (I also sew and do cross stitch, amongs other small things). So tomorrow I plan to "gut" the room of all stuff into the family room, minus the bed (it is also a guest room) and go from there.

I hope to upload pictures to show my progress. I do also plan to upload my layouts. I have completed 26 digital layouts so far this year and will try to begin uploading them later today, as I do need to go to bed, I have 3 young boys that will wake up early even if their mommy was crazy and stayed up late ;-)
